Investigation on the Effect of Asymmetric Cyclic Loading on Ratcheting Deformation and Bulk Texture Development in HSLA Steel

Ratcheting deformation in association with bulk texture evolution HSLA steel is studied this investigation. The cyclic behaviors and damage modes of the specimens are obtained at room temperature, employing asymmetric stress-controlled tests under various combinations mean stress amplitudes. Bulk measurements done adopting an X-ray diffraction analysis. results exhibit increase strain accumulation from 0.23 to 30.61% associated a sharp reduction ratcheting life 3320 880 cycles by increment stress/stress amplitude. A continuous softening until final failure observed for all tests.
